Octoberfest!

I loooove October. Perfect weather! I love bundling up under a bunch of sweaters and blankets and drinking hot chocolate. This is definitely the best time of year. It's also the perfect time to start wearing scarves and hats and such :) Which means more crocheting for me!

Alsooooo, the Wisconsin Street Team (WIST) on Etsy is having an Octoberfest Celebration and it's members (including me) are having sales in their Etsy shops from October 3 to the 11th! That's this Saturday until next Sunday. I'm personally going to have 20% off everything in my store. Other WISTers are doing different offers.

Be sure to check out my store and the other stores participating between October 3rd and 11th. It wouldn't be a bad idea to go look now and see if anything catches your eye so you know what you want to get once the sale comes around.

End of Summerrrrrrr

It's almost time for me to go back to school. I'm a little excited but a little disappointed. Summer went by so fast! Buuuuut, I can't wait for it to be cold enough to start wearing scarves and gloves and winter coats. I miss bundling up!

I'm pretty excited about only having classes 2 days a week, even if I'll be on campus for 13 hours on Tuesdays.

Oooh! I'm making a mannequin out of chicken wire and papier mache! So far it's turning out really cool. It's only got a couple layers of paper on it now, so it's got a ways to go before being done. I'll try to take some pictures of it tomorrow before I work on it some more.

I feel like I've got so much to do and not nearly enough time to do it!

That's right. I've been crocheting like a beast lately to try to get ready for Fall. And now I'm back on Etsy. I've only got five listings up right now, but I plan on adding a bunch more. I'm gonna try to take pictures tomorrow. I've even got some non-crocheted stuff I'll be putting up! Not sure if those will sell very well, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

And I'm going to do more advertising than I did before. I'm going to try to be really active on Etsy (looking through shops, favoriting people, making friends, posting in the forums, all that jazz), and Craftster, Facebook, DeviantArt, and hopefully in this blog.

I think I'm off to a pretty good start. I even joined the WIST (Wisconsin Street Team) on Etsy.

Ooh, and I drew up a new little pigeon-y mascot! I think this one is a big improvement from the other. Much cuter and has a lot more personality. And it's colored!

Anyways, I can't think of anything else to talk about except things completely un-crochet related that I don't really feel like going into at the moment anyways. So see ya! :D

Everything that had been listed on my Etsy has been unlisted (was up long enough that they were automatically taken off). So now I plan to wait until the end of the summer and I'll re-list everything and add new stuff.

By the way, I have been crocheting like a beast in the last week. Which is especially good because I've barely crocheted anything in the last four or five months.

On an un-related note, I am not good at my job, I need to find a new one. And hopefully soon.

I'm actually somewhat excited for the Fall semester. Only about a month and a half away. Eep. I'm gonna be a sophomore!

My birthday's only about a month away. The big 1-9. Exciting.

Oh no, I hear a fire truck right down the street. I'm going to go see what that's all about.

Since being employed, I've become pretty much useless. I haven't posted anything on Etsy, or crocheted, or knitted, or drawn, or done anything productive really (other than actually going to work and getting money, and I guess that's pretty nice)

Ok, that's sort of an exaggeration. I've crocheted maybe a few SMALL things.

And I think I've made another Etsy sale, which is pretty cool since I haven't put anything new up since early February. But I really do need to get some new stuff up. Everything I have up now isn't very good and it's all expiring around now anyway and I don't know if I'll even bother re-listing most of it.

I need to find another job. I've got an application for Success Video that I need to fill out and Jeremiah said he might be able to get me a waitressing job at a restaurant in Kenosha that's run by the same family that runs the restaurant he works at. And I've got an interview at Sears on Friday. So hopefully at least one of those will work out.

And I got an A and three Bs for the Spring semester! Yay!

Also, me and Jeremiah got a pet mouse! He's adorable and I call him MooMoo!

Third Etsy Sale!

Just made my third Etsy sale today! Oh gosh. And then I JUST now went to go find the url to post a link to my sale, and realized I made another sale a minute ago. Awesome! Rainbow Pom-Pom Hat earlier and Fuzzy Green Neckwarmer just now.

Now onto the not so fun part. I'm not liking my job as much as I thought I would. I probably just need to get used to it. But lately, I've felt like, between work and school, I have nooo time for anything fun, like crocheting. Since my last post, I've gotten two hats, a flower or two, and a few experimental crocheted wire pendant-type things done. Which isn't much considering how long it's been. Oh, I also made some bright green plarn.
And now I'm working every Saturday, and I work right through the time I'd normally want to post on Etsy :( I like posting Saturday afternoons because that's when I seem to get the most views, but now I can't post on Saturday's until 7. Bleh! Oh well, I guess I just need to adjust.

I'm Employed!

Finallyyyyyyy. I have a job now! It's pretty good pay and I only work 8 hours a week! (4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday) I sell pet food, so I get to talk to people about their cats and dogs! And I get paid every week, but I was figuring it'd be every two weeks. Aaaaand I have an apron with a buffalo on it.

And since it's only 8 hours a week, that leaves way more time than I was thinking a job would leave for other things. Like crocheting!

And since I had the training thing today, I forgot to put stuff on Etsy, which kinda sucks cuz I get a lot more views posting things on Saturday afternoons than any other time of the week. Oh well.

Bobble Necklace

Oh, I forgot, I made a bobble stitch necklace, basically from this pattern. I made the bobbles a bit smaller though. If anyone sees this and has made this before, I was just wondering, were you happy with the way it turned out? I was so sure I would love mine, but I made it and put it on and just don't like it that much. Maybe I should've made the bobbles bigger...

Booo Winter!

I really should put some new stuff on Etsy. I should also make more stuff to put on there. I've been so lazy about that lately.

Aaaaaaand I really need to work on figuring out stuff to make for Spring. The hats and scarves and neckwarmers probably won't sell very well once it's a bit warmer out. Not that they're selling now. But I'm still hopeful!

Also, as far as grades go, I'm doing awesome in my Science and Pseudoscience class (15 points out of a possible total of 15!), and in my Intro to Criminal Justice and Contemporary Moral Problems classes... Well, I have no idea. And I'm doing pretty bad in my Intro to Anthro class. I think I'm getting a 40% or something like that. Which isn't quite as bad as it sounds. With the professor's grading scale, that's actually like a C.

Anyways. I plan to put stuff up tomorrow afternoon on Etsy. If anyone sees this, you should go to my shop! Click here!!

Interview!

So, the woman from Sears never called to reschedule, but now I've got an interview for K-Mart on Wednesday. Hopefully that one will work out. Or maybe I'll hear back about my application at Caribou Coffee. That would be like the best place in the world to work. That or Michael's. Or Hobby Lobby. Or Jo-Ann Fabrics. Or or or.

And now I've got 12 things in my shop. And pictures of a few more things, but I think I'll wait until next weekend to put those up.

I've got a huge to-do list I ought to get to.

I was supposed to have a job interview today at 2, but the manager of the store I applied at is on vacation, so a woman, named Danielle, called me and told me it'd have to be rescheduled. Oh well.

I put some stuff on DeviantArt today. I've had an account there for 4 years now, and just put stuff on there for the first time today. It's just crocheted stuff, all of which is either for sale or has already been sold in my Etsy shop.

And I put one new item on Etsy. It's a pink and white neckwarmer. I really like it. It's pretty soft, and has a nice color, and I really love the buttons on it. And it's made of nylon, angora, and wool.

Annnnnd I finally took some more pictures today, so I should be putting up a couple scarves, some hats, and a neckwarmer/hat set within the next few days. And hopefully I'll take some more tomorrow afternoon, but I'm gonna have to take Jeremiah to work and then I've got plans with some friends after that.

I keep starting these things and then just going back and deleting every entry later because I figure no one reads them anyway. But I've decided that I'm going to start this one and actually leave it up. I may be the only one reading it, but maybe it'll be kinda cool if I can come back and read this stuff in a few years.

Also, I made my first Etsy sale yesterday. Soooo exciting. I shipped it this morning and everything. I really need to put more stuff on there, though. I think there are only six things up right now.

But for now, I should probably just go do homework.
